Have some fun after school and maybe get a bit messy! Join us this spring for eight weeks of clay classes, for ages 8-12 and teens. Whether working with slabs or coil pots, or working on the pottery wheel, students will learn the basics of ceramics in a small class setting with lots of individual attention. Don't miss out on the artistic experience of working with clay at Community Kiln!
Clay can be messy - your child should wear "play" clothes, or bring a smock/apron to wear.
Students will use the basics of handbuilding including slab, pinch, and coil to create unique works in clay - the possibilities are virtually endless. Learn to add surface detail and underglazes. Tuition includes clay, underglazes and firing.
