Clay Exploration!

Students will learn the basics of handbuilding including slab, pinch, and coil to create unique works in clay. Surface detail and underglazes will be used to make each piece your own!  Tuition includes instruction, clay, underglazes, and firing.

Teen Wheelthrowing!

​Students will learn the process of wheelthrowing including centering, opening, pulling, and forming shapes such as bowls, vases, and mugs. Advanced students coming into this class can work with the teacher to create projects to fit their skill level and challenge themselves.  Works are decorated with underglaze and fired.  Tuition includes clay, underglazes and firing.

Introduction To clay

Designed for students who have very little to no experience with clay, this four week class will cover basic handbuilding techniques as well as an introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel.   Three weeks will be spent learning how to work with clay, followed by a week off for work to be bisque fired and then students will return for their final class on glazing.  Tuition includes all materials and tools.  Open studio is not included with the cost of tuition.​

Beginner Wheelthrowing 

This class is for students with little or no experience using the potter’s wheel.  Beginners will learn basic skills such as wedging clay, centering on the wheel, and forming fundamental shapes such as mugs, bowls, plates, and vases.  Class includes demonstrations and personal instruction.

Intermediate Wheelthrowing

Improve and build upon your basic knowledge and technique.  This class will focus on advanced throwing techniques, complex forms, and surface decoration.  Class discussions and critiques of fired works will allow students to explore their individual styles.

All-Levels Wheelthrowing

​​This class is for students of any level!  Join us if you have little or no experience using the potter’s wheel, or if you've been doing it for years.  Beginners will learn basic skills such as wedging clay, centering on the wheel, and forming fundamental shapes such as mugs, bowls, plates, and vases.  More advanced students will focus on more throwing techniques, strengthening and varying form, and increasing knowledge of glazing.  A great class to learn from a teacher and your peers.

Class discussions and critiques of fired works will allow students to better explore these individual styles.
