Designed for students who have very little to no experience with clay, this four week class will cover basic handbuilding techniques as well as an introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Three weeks will be spent learning how to work with clay, followed by a week off for work to be bisque fired and then students will return for their final class on glazing. Tuition includes all materials and tools. Open studio is not included with the cost of tuition.

Students will learn the process of wheelthrowing including centering, opening, pulling, and forming shapes such as bowls, vases, and mugs. Advanced students coming into this class can work with the teacher to create projects to fit their skill level and challenge themselves. Works are decorated with underglaze and fired. Tuition includes clay, underglazes and firing.
